ArboStar offline functionality
Our application retains part of its functionality even offline. That is highly beneficial in case the job site is in a rural area or in case employees don't have access to stable mobile coverage.
That's why we have prepared the list with a description of each ArboStar feature that keeps working even without the internet.
Before we start, please note that the logic behind saving drafts online and offline differs. Thus, projects and clients that were created offline should be saved offline and vice versa. Otherwise, the crucial data might be lost.
The time tracker is functional offline.
Please be advised that it's possible only in case the GPS tracking is turned off for the user in the User Management
In case the user that is connected to GPS started the tracker online, the system will keep on saving time even in offline mode, but it won’t be possible to stop the tracker until they are back online.
Forms can be filled out offline. However, the form will record the time when the app is synchronized with the web as the submission time.
New Clients, Estimates and Leads can be created from scratch offline.
Please click on the "plus" icon in the top right corner of the screen in order to access the sub-modules.
The same way Leads and estimates can be created for a new or already existing client.
However there are a couple of downsides. The “Scheme” function can’t be used during the estimation process. At the same time, photos cannot be added to the estimate. Thus if there’s a need to add a photo, we always recommend adding the picture after the connection is restored, otherwise the draft might be lost.
Please note that the system can’t upload the full list of the clients, only the most relevant will remain in local storage. Kindly rest assured, the client list, estimates, and leads will be synchronized with the web automatically when the user is back online.
Workorders and invoices sub-modules are not currently accessible offline.
The Jobs in the agenda are active offline
The user can start or finish jobs. Start and finish forms will remain too and they’ll pop up as usual even offline.
However, it’s not possible to change the status of services, thus the invoice won’t be generated automatically.
