Every tree in Tree Inventory has a History tab that shows a complete log of everything that has ever happened with that tree — across all estimates, workorders, jobs, and invoices, not just the current one. Think of it as the tree’s medical record: every visit, every service, every change is documented in one place.
Tree History is read-only and cannot be edited or deleted.
When is Tree History useful?
A few everyday situations where History comes in handy:
- Preparing a new estimate — before quoting work on a tree, check its History to see what was done before, when, and at what stage the last job was completed.
- Answering a client question — if a client asks what work was done on a specific tree, the full picture is in History: every estimate, job, and invoice linked to that tree.
- Tracking field progress — see when a service status changed and who updated it, without needing to open every job manually.
- Reviewing changes — if a tree’s details look different than expected, History shows exactly what changed, who changed it, and when.

What Gets Recorded
History events are organized into three categories:
Tree Changes
Everything that happens to the tree itself:
- Tree created — when the tree was first added to the map, including its initial field values and location.
- Tree details updated — any time a field was changed. You can see exactly which field changed, what the previous value was, and what the new value is.
- Tree location updated — when the tree was moved on the map.
- Files attached — when photos or files were added to the tree.
- Files removed — when photos or files were deleted.
Every event shows who made the change and when.
Estimates & Invoices
The tree’s involvement in commercial documents:
- Tree added to Estimate — the tree was added to an estimate. The estimate number is clickable — tap it to go directly to that estimate. The services assigned to this tree in that estimate are also listed.
- Service assigned to Tree in Estimate — a service, product, or bundle was added to this tree within a specific estimate.
- Invoice created — an invoice was created that includes services from this tree. The invoice number is clickable.
Jobs & Reports
The actual work performed on the tree:
- Job created — a job was scheduled that includes this tree.
- Service status updated — a service status changed, for example from New to Completed or Declined.
- Report submitted — a field worker submitted a report for a service on this tree.
What Happens When Data Is Removed
Tree History only reflects active connections. If a tree is removed from an estimate, all history events related to that estimate are removed from Tree History as well. The same applies to services — if a service is removed from a tree within an estimate, the related events disappear from History too.
This means History always shows the current state of the tree’s connections — not a record of things that were later undone.
A Few More Details
- Events are shown in reverse chronological order — newest first.
- History covers all estimates, workorders, jobs, and invoices the tree has ever been part of, not just the current document.
